What you get
Candela ist kostenlos, vollständig und ohne Abonnement. Es gibt keine gesperrten Funktionen, keine Testphase und keine Werbung. Du darfst die App auf deinen eigenen Geräten benutzen, so lange und so oft du willst.
Candela is free, complete and without a subscription. There are no locked features, no trial period and no advertising. You may use the app on your own devices, for as long and as often as you like.
Die Kaffeekasse
The tip jar
In der App kannst du freiwillig einen Betrag zahlen — einen „Kaffee“. Das ist ein Trinkgeld, keine Gegenleistung: Du kaufst damit keine Funktion, keinen Vorrang beim Support und keine Werbefreiheit, denn all das ist ohnehin dabei. Die App ist vorher und nachher dieselbe, sie hört danach nur auf zu fragen.
Inside the app you can voluntarily pay an amount — a “coffee”. This is a tip, not a transaction: it buys no feature, no priority support and no removal of ads, because all of that is included anyway. The app is the same before and after; it simply stops asking.
Die Zahlung läuft vollständig über den App Store beziehungsweise Google Play. Der Preis, den du siehst, kommt aus dem jeweiligen Laden und gilt in deiner Währung inklusive der Steuern deines Landes. Vertragspartner für die Zahlung ist Apple oder Google, nicht ich — auch bei Rückerstattungen wendest du dich dorthin. Ich erhalte weder deinen Namen noch deine Zahlungsdaten.
Payment runs entirely through the App Store or Google Play. The price you see comes from that store and applies in your currency, including your country’s taxes. Your payment contract is with Apple or Google, not with me — refunds go through them as well. I receive neither your name nor your payment details.
Ein Trinkgeld ist ein Verbrauchsartikel: Es lässt sich nicht wiederherstellen und nicht auf ein anderes Konto übertragen. Es ist nichts verloren, wenn du es nicht wiederholst.
A tip is a consumable purchase: it cannot be restored or transferred to another account. Nothing is lost if you never repeat it.
Deine Kontakte gehören dir
Your contacts are yours
Candela liest dein Adressbuch und schreibt auf deine ausdrückliche Bestätigung hin Geburtsdaten und Fotos in deine Kontakte zurück. Sie legt keine eigene Kopie an und überträgt nichts. Was die App im Einzelnen verarbeitet, steht in der Datenschutzerklärung.
Candela reads your address book and, only when you confirm, writes dates of birth and photos back into your contacts. It keeps no copy of its own and transmits nothing. What the app processes in detail is set out in the privacy policy.
Für den Inhalt deines Adressbuchs bist du verantwortlich — auch dafür, dass du die Nummern, an die du schreibst, benutzen darfst.
You are responsible for the content of your address book — including whether you may use the numbers you write to.
Was die App nicht verspricht
What the app does not promise
Candela erinnert dich an Geburtstage. Sie tut das, so gut sie kann, aber sie ist ein Programm auf einem Telefon: Erinnerungen können ausbleiben, wenn das Gerät aus ist, der Akku leer, die Benachrichtigungen abgeschaltet oder das System sie zurückhält. Verlass dich bei etwas Wichtigem nicht allein auf sie. Eine Haftung für vergessene Geburtstage übernehme ich nicht.
Candela reminds you of birthdays. It does so as well as it can, but it is a program on a phone: reminders can fail to arrive if the device is off, the battery is empty, notifications are disabled, or the system holds them back. Do not rely on it alone for anything that matters. I accept no liability for forgotten birthdays.
Die App wird bereitgestellt, wie sie ist. Im gesetzlich zulässigen Rahmen hafte ich nicht für mittelbare Schäden. Für Vorsatz und grobe Fahrlässigkeit hafte ich, wie das Gesetz es vorsieht — daran ändern diese Bedingungen nichts. Zwingende Verbraucherrechte in deinem Land bleiben in jedem Fall unberührt.
The app is provided as it is. To the extent permitted by law I am not liable for indirect damages. For intent and gross negligence I am liable as the law provides — these terms change nothing about that. Mandatory consumer rights in your country remain unaffected in any case.

Die App zurückentwickeln, verändert weiterverbreiten oder unter anderem Namen vertreiben. Die vorformulierten Glückwünsche darfst du frei verwenden, auch geändert — sie sind zum Verschicken da.
Reverse-engineer the app, redistribute it modified, or publish it under another name. The prepared greetings are yours to use freely, changed or not — they exist to be sent.

Changes and law
Ändern sich diese Bedingungen, steht die neue Fassung hier, mit neuem Datum. Es gilt Schweizer Recht, Gerichtsstand ist mein Wohnsitz — soweit du nicht als Verbraucher zwingend an deinem eigenen Wohnsitz klagen darfst. Das darfst du in der Regel.
If these terms change, the new version appears here with a new date. Swiss law applies and the place of jurisdiction is my domicile — unless, as a consumer, you are entitled to sue at your own. Usually you are.
